Let's ignore the fact that it's been roughly two months since this trip to Beijing happened, and that it's been even longer since I last posted an update, shall we?
In early September, I was able to cross China off the list of countries I've been to. It was a quick four-day stop, but we managed to accomplish almost all things touristy within that period, so no complaints here. We even found the time to get lost around the periphery of the Forbidden City, but really, what's a vacation without a little off-course adventure?
The best part of the trip? Discovering the concentration of museums and quirky shops nestled in the Chaoyang District of the city, undoubtedly. The 798 Art District is boisterous interiors, vivid street art, colored liquor, bustling cafes, and young, energetic crowds of people synthesized into the ideal place for art enthusiasts to spend a sunny Beijing afternoon.
Should I ever find myself in this city again, I fully commit to purchasing more magazines I cannot read, eating more authentic Chinese food, and spoiling myself with even more breakfast buffet yogurt.
